2014 RIVERFEST Water Drop 5K Run/Walk & Water Droplet Kids Run


Come celebrate the summer with the 5th Annual Riverfest Water Drop 5K Run / Walk and 2nd annual Water Droplet Kids Run benefiting the Wabash River Enhancement Corporation. Both events are part of Wabash Riverfest. The 5K race will start at the Tapawingo Park Band Shelter and the kids run will begin at the Tapawingo side of the Pedestrian Bridge in West Lafayette, IN. The 5K race will be officially timed with generous sponsorship from the Tippecanoe County Partnership for Water Quality! Come out for the races and stay for all the Wabash Riverfest activities following the event, including many family friendly events and the canoe races on the Wabash River all day long.

Start for the 5K is located off Brown Street in West Lafayette, IN near the Tapawingo Park Band Shelter. Brown Street is located behind the Wabash Landing.
The kids’ run start is located at the West Lafayette-Tapawingo side of the pedestrian bridge.
FREE parking is available in the parking garage of the Wabash Landing which is located off of Tapawingo St. (behind the Hilton Garden Inn).

  • Packet pick-up will be Friday, July 11th at Fleet Feet, 500 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
  • Registration on day of Race: $25 (T-shirt not guaranteed)
  • Registration and packet pick-up open from 7:00 – 7:45 a.m. at the Tapawingo Park Ice Rink

Registration is FREE – Must be 12 or under (first 50 kids registered receives a t-shirt).

All prizes will be environmentally themed and awarded promptly 30 minutes after the first finisher. Results will be posted online.

Every participant will receive a free ice cream treat from a local business.

The 5K Run/Walk Race Route winds through Wabash Riverfest and along the scenic Wabash River Heritage Trail.  See the 2014 race route, including water stations, mile markers, and registration information.

The Kids Run will be held on the pedestrian bridge starting at the West Lafayette – Tapawingo Park side.  The kids will run across the bridge and back.
